As you are all likely aware by now, a mandatory 30-day quarantine will be taking effect starting 12:01 AM on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 and is to remain in effect for 30 days, until 12:01 AM on Thursday, April 23, 2020, or unless sooner amended, superseded, or rescinded.
How does this effect our business?
Directly quoting the Emergency Order, Section One: Definitions and Exemptions, line X reads;
“Plumbers, electricians, exterminators, construction, cleaning and janitorial staff, security staff, HVAC, painting, moving and relocation services, lawn care and landscaping and other trades and service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences, Essential Activities, and Essential Businesses:”
We fall under the definition of an essential business. With all of that said, we want to do our part, as best we can, to help improve our community and keep everyone safe. We made the decision that our office is going to close to the public for the mandatory 30 days. Our office staff will be working remotely.
We will continue to provide all of the same services that we always have.
That includes our complete handyman services, any and all remodeling requests and custom home build opportunities via Shepard Homes. To the best of our ability, customers should expect to see no delay or downtown to any ongoing or scheduled projects.
Thankfully, in construction it’s rare that you find field staff working in close proximity of each other. Our field staff has been reminded to maintain proper distances to each other when working on the same project. In homes that are occupied, we are going to be taking extra effort to ensure that our customers feel and stay safe around our staff and any sub-contractor that may be entering their home.
This is an interesting time for everyone. We all need to do our part to help, whatever that is, to keep everyone safe. Now and in the future, if you need help with a project, big or small, let us know. We aren’t going anywhere, and we will do whatever we can to help our community continue to flourish and progress!
